Picture of The Nineteenth Hole
Valencia Propety presents a famous joke about golf, it's a good walk ruined. Trying to hit a small projectile into a small hole a great distance away with a strange shaped stick while wearing oddly pastel coloured sponsored pyjamas is not a great look for a "sport". When the main participants in the sport, at least in the USA are, memorably described by Marina Hyde in the Guardian as "Evangelical Shitehawks" there is even less to recommend it. However, it can't be denied that property overlooking a golf course has two great advantages, views of greenery and great demand for those properties from people who like the sport for what it used to be when municipal courses ruled the roost. If the property in question is to be found on a gated estate with easy access to a great city nearby and you can even get to ruin your own walk as the course is not totally private then that's something I suppose.

El Bosque golf course is a challenge as it's hilly. I was supplied the photos by the owners of this property because on my visit to view, let's just say the weather wasn't in the "clement" zone. I could have gone water skiing without a boat down the 18th fairway. The surrounding hills were invisible due to the low cloud cover and all I could think of was that this is the first time I had ever not seen the hills in 23 years of visiting El Bosque. You see, we get an average of 300-320 days of sunshine in Valencia every year and those 45-65 days of no sunshine seem to have been concentrated into the last few weeks and the next couple of weeks this year

So, onto the property. Built around 20 years ago this terraced villa with shared facilities is in excellent condition, meaning the tsunami of water was still outside rather than in the house. Around 120m2 plus a garage for your car (or table tennis table and storage in this case), the developer did a great job on these houses by making sure the fittings were classic and bathrooms were neutral meaning they still look like new and also quite modern. There are two bathrooms and a downstairs toilet, three bedrooms, a good looking and decent sized kitchen and a large living room leading out onto a terrace with golf course views, not on the day I went of course. The owners are even willing to talk about selling it fully furnished.

I almost forgot, there are two more terraces, one off the main bedroom which also has an en suite bathroom and another on the roof allowing you to stand and soak up the rain like Andy Dufresne in the Shawshank Redemption, at least when I was there.

There is an excellent shared pool area which of course I could have used while there without noticing as I couldn't really get any wetter and the difference between water and air was minimal that day, and the estate has 24 hour security, a social club and sports facilities and even a horse riding school. Set just five minutes from the A3 motorway and 25 minutes into the city of Valencia and airport this is an excellent opportunity to get yourself a property overlooking a golf course which you could also potentially rent out to friends and family also afflicted by the sponsored pastel coloured clothes illness.
