Why You Cannot See Properties at the Weekend

I got riled by Facebook this week. I know, I know, I should just avoid it like an increasing number of people are doing but I couldn’t let it lie this time.

Apparently, according to people in Facebook groups at least, you cannot go to see properties in Valencia at the weekend because, and I quote, “all agents are a bunch of workshy cowboys who don’t do anything to justify the commission payments they receive on making sales”. And as you know people in Facebook groups are reasonable people with considered opinions who are not know-alls at all and know everything about everything despite never having worked in any of the industries they opine on so it must be true right?

Get Your Golden Visa Quickly, Just In Case

The European Union wants to crack down on Golden Visa programmes. The War and the perceived abuse of the system by Russians (and also other country’s citizens) bearing in mind the current situation in the Ukraine, means that the EU has decided that now might be the time to crack down on the Golden Visa process.

We have been dealing with people getting the Golden Visa for years now and the vast majority of our clients being granted the Golden Visa are from North America and latterly the UK. However the crackdown may be more general rather than on individual countries. Only this week a block was put on applications from Russians looking for the Golden Visa in Spain.

Brits in Valencia After One Year Of Brexit

Everyone who has been to visit us in the last year has asked the same question in one or more ways, “What has happened to the Brits coming here in the last year?” Americans ask it, the Dutch ask it and virtually everyone else asks us but most of all the Brits who visit us ask it because they can’t understand the reason for the harm that has been imposed on their own island by the increasingly corrupt and incompetent UK government.

I suppose we get asked it because we are British and everyone is interested in how a country can be so so so stupid as to impose restrictions on its own citizens by leaving the most successful trading and cultural block in the World

November 2021 Valencia Property News

We are not quite there yet but next week is looking amazingly busy so it’s unlikely we will have time to put together this post then. Between sales, holidays, visits and more September and October have flown by and it’s time to look at what is happening in the Valencia Property market to keep you up to date.

Plenty of news in this edition of the blog including some very good news for sellers, (and potentially for buyers too), what is moving on the market, what agents on the ground are saying and some great Valencia Property deals.

What People Tell Us They Want From Valencia Property

In this post we are going to talk about what people ask us to do or to keep doing on our Valencia Property website and blog. The things that people always get in touch with us about and the questions people always ask that we try to satisfy. Why are we doing this? Well of course so you can tell us what you want more of from us, how we can better help you and where we can improve.

Some of the things that we do are more or less unique to our agency, we genuinely believe that nobody writes descriptions like we do so consistently and in this post we are going to be showing you some of the latest examples

Lockdown Properties in Valencia For All Price Ranges

Covid19 is a pain in the butt. There I’ve said it. There are more restrictions in place in Valencia right now but as far as we understand it we can still show properties at least as I write this. We are being ultra careful with the way we show properties: Social Distancing, hand sanitizer, multiple cars, windows open etc… where possible but the process of buying continues to work.

Valencia Gets Great Publicity

Valencia gets great publicity without really trying. That’s because it’s a great place to live (Have we mentioned this before? Maybe once or twice right?) The last few weeks have seen even more great publicity for Valencia but remember “shhhh! we are trying to keep it quiet.” Anyway, let’s look at some of that excellent recent Valencia publicity.

Back to Work, Back To Reality

It has been a slow start to 2021 in Valencia. This always happens due to Kings Day on the 6th January (Epiphany) but this year it has seemed slower. We were due to have a signing today, 8th January, but it has been put off until next week as the bank sent the papers for the mortgage to the wrong notary (Spain happens) and then the regional government put in place new restrictions on movement including some towns completely shut down, see below, and then the weather decided to go really bad and maybe we will get some snow, Requena already has some!

One Step Spanish Golden Visa Properties

We are getting plenty of people looking to buy property in Valencia in order to get their Spanish Golden Visa. For those that don’t know what the Spanish Golden Visa involves it requires an investment of 500k in property in Spain without a mortgage in order to be granted a visa that allows you to move freely through Spain and the other Schengen countries without the requirement to actually live in Spain for more than six months of the year, a requirement of the usual Spanish residency visa. You investment can be on one property or a portfolio of properties to make up the 500k minimum.

Golden Visa Properties in Valencia For Non EU Citizens. Summer 2020 Edition

The Spanish Golden Visa for non EU citizens has brought many people into Spain from all parts of the World to enjoy free movement around the Schengen area, security for their families and an excellent quality of life in a safe and accommodating country. All around Spain people have been buying up places to live so they can enjoy the rights that a Golden Visa gives them. We have sold many properties to clients as part of a portfolio so they can get the Golden Visa but it is much more common for clients to buy a single property over the threshold of 500k and use that as their base for exploring the rest of Europe
