Last week I didn't post on here but I did post a lot on www.facebook.com/ValenciaProperty and on Twitter and other places where you might want to keep an eye out as that is where things go first. Meanwhile I was showing properties like the following to clients last week and having to deal with banks and valuations left, right and centre. Take a look and see what you think.

When you are thinking of buying a house for sale in Spain I have always insisted that it is important to know what you are getting yourself in for as regards the country as well as the particular house or area you want to move to. Because of the overwhelming demand for outside space in the city, attic flats in Valencia are becoming much more highly valued and also incidentally are totally holding their price as there are so few available. Therefore I thought that today I would simply embed a couple of videos of flats that are available. They are not traditional attic flats though as neither has its own outside space... yet.

Almost two years ago in June 2009 I wrote a post that was featured on This is Spain about Twitter users in Spain. It is interesting to see what has happened in the meantime to those featured back then. Many of the users from then now no longer use the service or have moved on into different accounts. With today's news that bookings are up 18% from the UK for holidays in Benidorm compared to last year the question I pose today is if it is a good idea to have property in Benidorm in a portfolio? Most people have a vision or opinion of Benidorm. From the New York style towerblocks, to the joy of the Terra Mítica theme park, to lager louts on stag dos, to "This is Spain" to any other number of stereotypes, nobody is really left untouched by opinions about Benidorm

The Fallas fiestas are becoming more well known worldwide as social media and people's own experiences are shared through images on Flickr, Facebook and Twitter. My first experiences of Fallas were in 1988 when I visited Valencia during the University holidays and back in those days of course none of this existed so I was surprised, no... I was blown away.

There is a major difference between Spanish people who buy apartments and foreign buyers in general. The Spanish go for location and the foreigners go for light and outside space. If you find a flat in the city that has a great location, lots of light and outside space then you are suddenly competing with other buyers and should not expect price drops in the near future for them.

I have been living in a community in Spain for 12 years now and I am still not an alcoholic. When you live in a flat in Spain you live in a community and when you live, as I do, in a set of terraced houses sharing a garden and pool then you also live in a community. If you buy a house in the Campo then you won't but you may still be popping into your local village to participate in the local fiestas.

I have said this before and I will say it again, at times I despair of Spain. (I actually said I despair of bank and I despair of sellers but you know what I mean) This again was brought home to me this week because of a few things.

Over the last few weeks I have been showing lots of Valencia Property to clients and getting a variety of reactions. Some people want a key ready property where no work is needed at all. Some want a place that needs a bit of work and some even want a place where you need to do everything. However this is all to be expected. Everyone has different requirements of course.

If you are looking for a great bargain property that is rather large and really well put together then this one could be the one for you. Set just outside Gandia in the orange groves but fully urbanised and registered as such in the property registry and catastro, this seven bedroom property has been reduced from 540K originally down to 300K now. Well worth a look if you are fishing about in this type of area.

I have had the fortune to travel around the Valencian community quite a lot in the last few weeks and I have noticed some major differences since the last time I was able to do it. I have been down to Javea a couple of times with excellent weather to accompany me. Because of this as I wasn't in a hurry I took the CV332 rather than the toll motorway. I saw this carbuncle near to Favara.

I have spent the last two days in Mallorca visiting friends and preparing a presentation for the Foro Luis Vives in Valencia on the 9th of March. Whilst there I stayed at the Finca Sant Blai near Campos and have to say it is an idyllic setting and for one lucky person or family it is also a great opportunity.

Yet again we have had a ridiculously busy week in Valencia. Therefore I think it is time to let you know which houses for sale in Spain have been put up onto the Valencia Property site this week, which properties have been visited and which properties are no longer available because they have been sold.

Just to the north of Valencia, 4km exactly, is the Marina village of Port Saplaya. Now Port Saplaya has an internal Marina, and many properties have views over the Marina or the Mediterranean, just avoid the ones with the views over the motorway to the back.

Possibly the worst words I can possibly hear from a seller of a property are those in this title. "I am in no hurry to sell". Not because this means that they will not sell to a shark circling trying to find properties at really low prices but simply because it means their expectations are unrealistic.

This beautiful flat has just come up for sale right in the heart of the Bario Carmen in Valencia. So my question is can you guess the price. Remember that at the height of the boom prices in the Carmen area of Valencia reached 3411 Euros per square metre and attic flats sold at a premium to that.
