Living in a Parallel Universe

I was looking for a property for a client this morning. Got ten numbers to call and made the calls. Then I suddenly realised that there are a lot of people living in a parallel Universe to mine. Now in my Universe prices hit the top in Spain in 2007 and have begun to drop ever since despite government figures being slightly askew (By a factor of around 20%). My estimate based on sale prices is that prices have dropped from the top by around 30-35% ie exactly the drop forecast by the OECD and predicted by myself a couple of years ago too. However in eight out of the ten cases that I have spoken to this morning they are living in a flowery meadow where nymphs dance around and the sun sparkles off the early morning dew as a beautiful rainbow with a pot of gold conveniently placed at the end awaits them. What am I saying? Well the famous "wake up and smell the coffee" mantra has not yet got into the heads of some people. We already have comparable properties for sale on the estate so I have good terms of reference of what is selling and the prices that are being asked and achieved. These people are inhabiting cloud cuckoo land and making the cuckoos look sensible. As always I say the same thing. If a property is not worth the money then it doesn't get onto our Valencia Property website. There may be the odd exception in the older properties we have there where the owner hasn't rectified the price recently and still needs to do so but I am glad to say that most of the properties on the site show signs of having interest from people and until they sell therefore they will stay there.
