Some clients came over a couple of weeks ago and they have
bought a property in Spain that is perfect for them and should suit their purposes down to a T. After my blog post recently advising a client not to
buy a property in Spain it was a relief to know that the clients in this case are not living in cloud cuckoo land and know exactly what they wanted out of their
property for sale in Spain. Let's look at the facts.
They needed ADSL broadband or the ability to get it. That is their first
non negotiable deal breaker. If the house didn't have it then forget it.
They needed to be
walking distance to a town. This is always a difficult one but as one of the partners didn't drive it was again a must have.
They needed
outside space for dogs. Again non negotiable because the dogs are part of the family.
They had to have
off road parking and easy tarmacced access because of a nifty sports car that was really low slung, ie no bumpy country roads.
Knowing what they needed it made it easier to match up their requirements with what was available and they got it as a result.
Compare and contrast with the attitude of, "Well, a city flat might be nice but we have never lived in a city before". Or "We don't mind not having mains electric because I suppose we can learn how to turn lights off". Or "We want a city centre pad that will suit us and the six dogs".
See the difference. Clarity of thought and intention not only meant they got what they wanted it makes our job as agents a lot easier because we don't get to waste your or our time unnecessarily.
