There are many options for getting to Valencia apart from simply flying into Valencia airport as there are not that many flights from all parts of Europe. That shouldn't stop you from getting here though and in some cases you can get here in style. You can fly into Barcelona, Alicante or Madrid for example and then get a train, hire a car or even use the bus service to get to Valencia.
The most impressive way to get here though is by getting a ticket on the AVE, Spain's bullet train, and you can get from Madrid to Valencia in little over an hour and a half, probably less time than it takes getting across London for example. So anyway. I took advantage of some cheap anniversary offers (on the ridiculously bad experience of the RENFE website) and took a train to Madrid to show you what it is like travelling on the AVE at almost 300km/h. It took me almost as long to book the tickets on the website as the journey itself to Madrid took!
What does this mean for Valencia? Well as I have said many times before, you really should be doing more with your time when you come to live in Spain and a visit to madrid in style is one of the things that Valencia can offer you. Well worth a visit not just to Madrid but also to the cities surrounding the capital such as Toledo, Salamanca and my favourite, Segovia.
