A really difficult client arrived last week in Valencia to look at property. Now I don't want you to get the impression I am complaining here because I mean difficult in a good way. How I hear you ask? Well, the client was ultra prepared for their visit and so therefore knew a lot more than the average client about Valencia and the process of buying properties. This created a small problem, the lack of small talk in the car :-).
How had the client prepared?
- He had watched all of the 100 videos I made about tips for people moving to Spain. Click the link and you can too.
- He had searched online through all of the property portals to find comparative prices and the types of property that he wanted meaning that he had a very clear idea of what he did and didn't want. (Check out Idealista, Fotocasa and Pisos.com for example for a large selection and to get an idea.)
- He had already arranged the finance for the purchase so didn't have to wonder about affordability criteria for property.
- He had trawled through the bank repossessions list (You can find it here if you want to spend a few hours getting depressed) and understood that, as I have said here before, the vast majority of the bank repossession property is overpriced, badly positioned and not good value for money.
- He was clear about his price range and had no intention of overspending, which of course is the best way to approach any purchase of property in any country.
- He was up to date with what was happening in Spain through subscribing to the Spain is Different Magazine.
- He had subscribed to the Spanish Property Magazine on the iPad. (And he only had complementary words for it) That makes me happy of course. It will make me happier if you download it here too.
