The Spanish Golden Visa for non EU citizens has brought many people into Spain from all parts of the World to enjoy free movement around the Schengen area, security for their families and an excellent quality of life in a safe and accommodating country. All around Spain people have been buying up places to live so they can enjoy the rights that a Golden Visa gives them.

We have sold many properties to clients as part of a portfolio so they can get the Golden Visa but it is much more common for clients to buy a single property over the threshold of 500k and use that as their base for exploring the rest of Europe. During lockdown we had many consultation calls about the Golden Visa and people’s future plans for moving to Valencia.

Today therefore we thought we would look at some of the possibilities at 500k and above for those looking at the Spanish Golden Visa as an option. For those of you interested remember that the 500k investment is in the actual property price on the deeds but you will need to bear in mind the 10% tax on property purchase, notary fees, agency fees and legal costs so look at an extra 15% on top of the purchase price making a minimum investment total of around 575k.

The answer is always the same, if I had this kind of budget I wouldn’t even consider anywhere else, set on the edge of the Gran Via area of Ensanche is Calle Jacinto Benavente a privileged neighbourhood with views and access to the Turia Gardens. I have lived here for 20 years and will never tire of this 9km Oasis of Calm, the greatest thing ever developed in Valencia and its pride and joy.

The apartment is an impressive 200m2 of 5 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a very large Kitchen, Living Room and Terrace with views to the Palau de Musica from the 4th floor, it is a bit dated, but if you are looking at this price bracket a modernisation project shouldn’t be a problem and then you can really get what you had in mind in the first place.
