In the summer of 2010 I put together 100 video tips for people thinking of relocating to Spain. Many people have seen the odd video here and there, very odd at times, but have been asking me where they can see the whole caboodle. Well YouTube have recently changed their look and a lot of people cannot find the playlist.

The week may be a bit quiet on the site as again. Just like last week, I have a huge glut of clients. Therefore not much time to put many posts on here giving you the new properties that have been added to the site. Added into this working with "A Place In The Sun", clients coming over and having to get them the NIE numbers in the new system and a few more media appearances being possible it looks like this week will be a tad busy.

I make no bones about it, there is life in the Spanish property market, much more life than most people suspect in fact. There is no doubt that badly priced, badly located and badly presented properties will not sell but the right property at the right price in the right place will always sell. As Meat Loaf once said "Two out of three ain't bad" either. However after a few conversations in the last few days I have to conclude that some people think that one swallow makes a summer and that an individual event predicts a trend even when the truth lies somewhere remote from the actual words spoken. So here you go the unofficial rules of driving in Spain. Driving in Spain is fun on the open road as there is a huge country to be discovered and very few speed cameras out there in the middle of nowhere. However as you get into the big cities it becomes a lot less fun, or even funnier depending on your point of view. What you need to know about this is the following: 1) You always have right of way if you have the loudest horn, are not nervous about sticking the front end of your car into oncoming traffic and don't mind a few bumps and scratches

The minister for the economy in Spain, Luis de Guindos, has caused a flutter in the market by insisting that banks need to provision more money and drop the prices on their repossessed properties to clear the stock. You will know what I think of most bank owned properties if you have read this post on their underhand tactics to gain clients with property at unrealistic prices but decent financing terms. However, the unintended (Or maybe even intended if I were to be a bit Machiavellian) consequence of his words has been that many properties on the market have been reduced in price this week.

I placed this article on a note on the Valencia Property Facebook page yesterday but a lot of people have been asking me about it so I thought it might be useful to place it into the blog and see what you think too. Yesterday I was sent some publicity by a bank and took a look. Some of the properties that they were advertising among their repossessed stock were interesting so I phoned up to get to look at one especially. My conversation went like this.

I want my company, Valencia Property, to change the way that property is bought in Spain, with confidence in the purchase and with the property as incidental to the lifestyle. Properties should sell themselves really because the decision to move here has already been made. What's the story though? You must come with the right attitude and for the right reasons. I have just been interviewed on Talk Radio Europe about this website and Valencia in general. For those of you who listened and then headed over here I mentioned some links during the interview and as Mark didn't have time to get them down here they are again :-)

I was found today by a seller wanting to sell his Valencia attic flat and I am so glad he found me. He got in touch based on a search for agents selling attics in Valencia so it's good to know that the page is working. So anyway I give you a totally modernised open plan attic apartment in Valencia. There are 78m2 of apartment and 55m2 of terrace. There is also the option to extend the apartment another 20m2 on the terrace and make a second bedroom, currently the apartment has one bedroom and bathroom.

Attics are my personal preference for living in a city in Spain. Luckily for me they are also the preference of my clients looking to buy in the City of Valencia in large part because what people are looking for when they are looking for a flat for sale in Valencia or any other Spanish city is outside space to complement the evident advantages of living on top of everything, the lack of need to have a car, having everything to hand when you need your milk and bread and the ability to get anywhere in the city within a short bus or metro ride.

Lliria town hall has just put out a new video promoting the town. They have missed a little trick by not having a subtitled version to attract expats but it gives a good vision of the town and you should take a look just to se the Roman ruins, the old fort, the museums and traditions of the town. 22 minutes in Spanish so get a coffee and sit back.
