A weekend in Valencia has come and almost gone and what have you had the opportunity to do in your town? Here in Valencia there were a few options.
1) We went to see the Arctic Monkeys at MTV Winter. Valencia is the permanent home for this. Last year Franz Ferdinand this year the Arctic Monkeys. Who's next? By the way have a look at the video we made from quite a way back last night, there were over 70,000 people there you know!! A bit shaky but the sound is good. "I Bet That You Look Good On The Dancefloor"
2) We didn't go to the America's Cup in Valencia. The event has been totally devalued by the shennanigans involving Oracle and Alinghi. and all of the court cases. Holding this event was not a good thing for Valencia and the public almost totally ignored it.
3) The Requena Sausage Festival was on. Might not sound great but if you want a great weekend away with stunning food and brilliant wine then this one could be for you next year. Just don't bother if you are a vegetarian.
4) Valencia held a wine festival too to present new wines from the region and more. Another good excuse to get a bit tipsy.
5) Sunday morning saw the Gulliver Park full in the sun. Loads of kids and parents clambering over the prone figure of Gulliver.
6) Apparently the ski slopes in Teruel were full of Valencian skiers. One and a half hours from Valencia a great and cheap day out.
