Most people are sure that they want one thing or another in their Valencia Property, an apartment in Valencia city or a house outside in Inland Valencia within a maximum of 30 minutes from the city itself, the airport and the beach. Some people are not so sure. We thought it might be useful to show you what you get for your money inside and outside the city and that maybe this would help those who are not sure to make a decision.
Now you obviously get a lot more for your money outside the city and the further inland you go the more you get for that money. The ideal is finding a balance between what you want, what you need and distances to facilities and amenities.
Within the city it is difficult to be too far away from shops, cafes, restaurants and public transport so you have everything to hand. Obviously you pay for this convenience in the price and the more convenient the property is usually the more you pay for it. There are different areas of the city that have different prices and we explored this phenomena in this post earlier this year about what influences the price of your Valencia Property.
Outside the city there are different influences compared with inside. If you are looking for a house then any place that is walking distance into the town will be more expensive than an equivalent place where you need a car to get around, however that may be what you want so that’s good news. You will pay more for the land if it is urban land than when it is rustic but at the same time you get more land for your money when it is rustic.
Apartments in the towns and villages around Valencia are exceedingly good value and certain places, for example Naquera, have extremely low prices for very very good apartments. Let’s take a look at what different prices can get you in different areas.
Up to 50,000 Euros
You can forget the city now although it is possible to get apartments still in areas such as Barrio de la Luz and Nazaret (A good long term investment in our opinion). However what if you could buy a three bedroomed apartment and all you needed to do was bring your toothbrush and have change out of 50k? Click on the image to view more pictures.
Up to 100,000 Euros.
It’s getting more and more difficult to find anything in the city for under 100k that doesn’t require a bit of work at least and is in an area in demand. However we have a few. For example, this two bedroomed apartment on the fourth floor without a lift near the central market is nicely put together and currently has tenants willing to stay on if required. However you can see that you don’t get half as much for your money as you do outside of the city.
A good example of this is this house with five bedrooms and pool near to Olocau for 94000 Euros. There are four bedrooms in the main house (They are all small) and a living room and kitchen as well as a bathroom. The largest bedroom is in the guest house and there is a large pool and sun deck. Just five minutes from Olocau and seven from Betera it is an excellent purchase for somebody.
To compare with something a little different though, look at this townhouse in Naquera for just 99,000 Euros. yes it is a fixer upper but there are 250m2 of house plus terraces to play with.
Up to 150,000 Euros
This will now get you a decent sized apartment in the city in areas slightly away from the hotspots of Ruzafa and the Carmen in the historic centre. An example would be this apartment in Monteolivete for 150k. It’s 83m2 so comes in under 2000 Euros per square metre which is very good for a refurbished property in this area.
What can you compare this with? This lovely Villamarchante villa with four bedrooms, large gardens and pool and situated in a really quiet area but just twenty minutes from the airport and twenty five from the city is excellent value at 139k
Also to live with everything to hand you have this townhouse in La Pobla de Vallbona with shared gardens and pool set over three floors with five bedrooms and three bathrooms. Amazing value at 150k ready to move into.
Up to 200,000 Euros
This sort of price is what you are looking at now in Ruzafa and El Carmen in the city. Equally if you go into areas less well known you can get a Penthouse like this for 200k.
Outside of the city however you will get a lot more for your money too. You could live in the lovely little town of La Eliana and almost double your space with a larger terrace too. Four bedrooms, large terraces, garage, gym, sauna and shared pool for under 200k.
Or you could treat yourself to this rather nifty family home in Lliria with four bedrooms, large terraces, pool and nice gardens for under 200k. Fully furnished and ready to move in with off road parking, outhouse and storage and high quality build throughout.
Up to 250,000 Euros
In the city we can find beachside properties that are modernised and ready to move into. 100m2 of apartment where evidently you pay for the views.
Outside the city we can go to Olocau and get ourselves a quite wonderful five bedroomed villa with large pool, great gardens and more for the same price.
Or we could get ourselves a potential Palace in Naquera. Why is it a potential palace? Because with 570m2 it is absolutely enormous. However it needs a good amount of renovation. Well worth doing as the basics of the house are pretty impressive.
300,000 Euros and Above
If money is no object then you can get some pretty spectacular properties in and around the city of Valencia. Within the city you could take a look at. This renovated apartment in stylish Ruzafa is rather gorgeous to look at with its traditionally tiled floors and modern styled looks
We also love this apartment in Arrancapins near to the metro station at Angel Guimera so a quick hop onto the metro from the airport to get in and out of the city. For 296,000 Euros you can’t find better quality and location in the city.
Or you could push the boat out and renovate a whole building. This huge building in the Old Town needs a lot of work of course but what a fantastic building to do it on.
Outside the city you could get your very own five or six bedroomed domed house in Serra with impressive staircase on the Portacoeli estate. This excellent house has been reduced from 600,000 euros plus.
Or you could buy this golf estate bargain in Chiva by the El Bosque golf course on a gated estate for half a million euros. It could even be two separate houses for a large family with beautiful gardens, lovely finishing and great views towards Calicanto.
If you really want something special then this Palace in Benimamet is rather quaint and huge. Loads of character and perfect for renting out to people wanting something different on Airbnb perhaps.
